Well, deciding to go to German to study abroad was easy, but truly knowing what I got myself into was a another story. I expected a culture of beer, schnitzel, and bratwurst. A culture that is punctual, hard working, and harsh. Yet, there is a much softer side to Germans then what meets the eye. I truly didn't expect to have as much fun as I have had in the last 3 weeks, and have as many stories to tell when I get home.
I found a country that doesn't hide its beauty but puts it out on display. I have taken about 1,000 pictures in my time here and I have to say none of them will ever do Heidelberg, Munich, Germany as a whole justice. I have found friendships that will last years, god willing a lifetime. We have shared culture, customs, and traditions. We have shared many laughs and tears, fun times and hard times. To interact and become close with the German students was the best part of this trip, as it is an experience a tourist would never have the chance to encounter.
I had the chance to experience the places a German student (20+ year old) hangs out at, what they do on their free time, what they like to drink, what they think of America, etc. And in many aspects they are just like many 20+ year olds who just like to have a good time. :)

In proportion to it all this trip is just a little blip on the radar, but the experience has cut deep enough to change who we are and how we view the world for the rest of our lives. It was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I am sure no body will ever forget.
