Hey Heidelberg, I'm Back!

Last summer I participated in the 3 week Study Abroad Program in Heidelberg and had the best experience of my life. Before attending the program, I never imagined myself leaving California because I was so comfortable with where I was. During the program, I have met and made many new friends that are now my close friends. The SRH staff members, professors, and students welcomed me into their home like I was a part of their family. The experience that I had was eye opening in many ways. I have discovered so much about the culture and the people, but most importantly I have learned a lot about myself. After leaving Germany, my perspectives about a lot of things changed. I had such an amazing experience that I knew I would be returning to Germany in the near future.

About a year after the program, I decided to apply for my Master’s Degree in Germany and got accepted 2 weeks before school started. I did not think that it was even possible for me to get everything together and move to Germany with such a short notice, but a big thanks to Hendrik who made it possible for me. I met Hendrik at SRH during the Study Abroad Program last year and we became very close friends. Because of all the help he has offered me, I was able to move to Germany for my Masters. Although I am not doing my Masters at SRH, Bettina and Hendrik still welcomed me into SRH like I was a student there. Because of them, I was able to take parts in the International Week Program which is very similar to the Summer Study Abroad Program but for a shorter period of time. Within one week, I have met and made many new friends from different countries through this program.

Like I said, this Summer Study Abroad Program has changed my life and it will change yours too!
